Really good pre-sessional support for our science modules

excellent use of case studies which students can use throughout the course and use for 'apply' and 'evaluate'

Mr Rob Holton

This book is an excellent resource as it explains anatomy and physiology simply and has colourful diagrams. It is unique in the use of a fictional family that you can relate your understanding to. It also has sections on terminologies and abbreviations to assist student nurses.

Not child specific but a useful text otherwise.

Miss Mel Webb

A good overview of Anatomy and physiology, put into a clinical content for nursing students. This is an easy book t use, and uses clinical and physiological language but in such a clear and concise manner it is easy to understand even for those at the beginning of their training.

Miss Jennifer Klunder

The cross-referencing of physiology helps avoid the temptation for students to try to understand systems in silos. However, there are some typos and Q3 in the endocrine system quiz has a wrong answer! Insulin does not raise blood sugar.

Julie Birrell
School of Healthcare Sciences (Wrexham), Bangor University

This book provided practical application of a topic that many pre-reg nursing students struggle with. The fact that the authors are from a nursing background is evident throughout and provides scenarios that they can relate to.

Miss Esther Ruth Beck
School of Nursing, Ulster University

The content is delivered in a logical and clear way that will support students to link theory to practice giving them a sound knowledge base to support their clinical decision making
