SAGE Publishing and the Hammill Institute on Disabilities partner to publish a total of 18 special education journals
SAGE Publishing today announces an expanded partnership with the Hammill Institute on Disabilities to publish Rural Special Education Quarterly (RSEQ), Beyond Behavior (BB), and Behavioral Disorders (BD). The new titles join 15 other special education journals that SAGE currently publishes on behalf of the Hammill Institute on Disabilities.
“We are excited to work with SAGE to increase the reach and discoverability of Behavioral Disorders, Beyond Behavior, and Rural Special Education Quarterly,” commented Judy Voress, Executive Director of the Hammill Institute on Disabilities. “SAGE expertly manages many of the back-office details for our collection of 18 journals, thus freeing us to focus on strengthening quality through editorial training and support.”
RSEQ is the only national scholarly publication devoted to topics, issues, and trends in service delivery or personnel preparation in rural special education and disability services. It is the official journal of the American Council on Rural Special Education and publishes new research findings, information on innovative program models, and current best practices. It also includes analysis of local, state, and national policies.
A practitioner journal, BB is designed for teachers, administrators, counselors, and other professionals who work with children and youth with or at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders. The journal helps provide these professionals with a rationale for choosing to use a practice or addressing a real-world issue. It also emphasizes the “how to” nature of field-based practice.
Research published in BD are reports of original investigations and theoretical papers that relate to the education of students with emotional and behavioral disorders. The journal publishes quantitative and qualitative studies, program evaluation reports, brief reports, and position statements.
“We are proud to expand our partnership with the Hammill Institute on Disabilities to publish its full journals portfolio, containing research that advances the care and education of individuals with disabilities and other special needs,” commented Bob Howard, Senior Vice President of Global Journals, SAGE Publishing. “We look forward to enhancing the collection’s global readership and impact.”
