Social Compass
For more than sixty years, Social Compass has provided a unique forum for all scholars concerned with the sociology of religion.
Each quarterly issue is thematic, offering in-depth coverage of a key area of current social research on religion in society. Recent themes include: teaching and research in the social sciences of religion; religion, culture and identity; and state reconstruction of the religious field.
Social Compass publishes articles in English and in French. Articles are always published with an abstract in both languages.
Regular members of the society receive the journal as part of their subscription. For more details of the society, please go to www.sisr.org

Social Compass is a fully peer reviewed international journal that publishes original research and review articles on the sociology of religion. It aims to reflect the wide variety of research being carried out by sociologists of religion in all countries. Part of each issue consists of invited articles on a particular theme; for the unthemed part of the journal, articles will be considered on any topic that bears upon religion in contemporary societies. Issue 2 each year contains selected papers from the biennial conferences of the International Society for the Sociology of Religion (ISSR). Readers are also invited to contribute to the Forum section.
Social Compass operates a strictly blinded peer review process in which the reviewers’ names are withheld from the author and, the author's name from the reviewers. The reviewers may at their own discretion opt to reveal their names to the author in their review but our standard policy practice is for both identities to remain concealed.
