Great book really useful in this area.
Good, up to date, UK specific text considering public health policy and practice. Particularly useful for underpinning core elements of public health nursing generally and taking practice forward through leadership development. Critical analysis approach towards different frameworks supports identification of suitability for different areas within public health practice and stimulate debate.
This book is very well laid out and easy to read. Student Health Visitors will find this book particularly useful and relevant for their role in assessing and promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. I particularly like the use of questions to encourage the students to think critically and also the use of case studies.

This book is well written, informative and easy to understand.
Well structured text covering concepts in Public Health and Health Promotion activities. The chapters on epidemiology and building evidence-based practice and evaluation are well written. Throughout the book the use of 'green boxes' to illustrate examples or highlight key points has been well thought out. A very good read.
