Nursing in Partnership with Patients and Carers
'The title of [this book] truly reflects the content, which achieves the aim of supporting student nurses working across all undergraduate pre-registration nursing and midwifery programmes to understand why this partnership is so essential. The style and format is accessible, directional and supportive of learning in and reflecting on practice by unifying theory with practical examples, activities, case studies, research summaries and scenarios. The mapping of each chapter against the Nursing and Midwifery's Council's Standards for Pre-Registration Nurse Education and Essential Skills Clusters complements learning and is a welcome inclusion. The authors should be commended for creatively illuminating and detailing (with the backing of evidence) why and how these partnerships are the bedrock in delivering individualised person-centred care - and may contribute to restoring the image of nursing.
An essential purchase for student nurses on pre-registration programmes, highlighting the fundamental partnerships that underpin the delivery of quality nursing' -

Working with our patients is a concept many people talk about and endorse but not something which people are necessarily good at doing in practice. This text highlights some of the key issues in delivering true partnership working with he patients and carers we support.
An excellent book used on the degree programme in both the long term conditions module and acute care module
This book is east to read, including activities and case examples for students to explore. It gives an oversight of current legislation and policy, and suggestions for further reading. A great book for those looking to develop their person centred care.
Always in huge demand with our first year students - excellent book!
The relationship and partnership between nursing, patients and carers is essential. By aligning theory with practical examples, activities and case studies/scenarios, the book successfully details the importance of these partnerships in delivering individualised person centred care.
This book is aimed at nurses in the UK, and is written with British practice in mind. This makes it less interesting for students in other countries.
This book is a helpful resource for all nurses who wish to examine the issues and challenges that emerge from working in partnerships, whilst at the same time offering some practical advice on how this can be achieved.
The text did not address ppi in te way required for the educational program. It's a great text, but it did not meet my needs
