'I would recommend The Practitioner's Handbook as a useful resource for therapists concerned with their professional development and the development of others' - Therapy Today, February 2009
A good general guide. Useful for dip in, dip out information for students.
Very beneficial with regards to communication skills in nursing
Gives a good introduction to elements of practice such as setting up a private practice, conducting research and how to avoid complaints and litigation.
Text would be too generic, too basic and counselling-specific to be adopted in this course.
This book is an excellent addition to the 'Trainee Handbook'. It expands with the development of the practitioner with it's comprehensive coverage of key topics such as supervision.
