SAGE Publishing partners with the Transportation Research Board to publish Transportation Research Record

December 19, 2017

SAGE Publishing is pleased to announce that it has begun to publish the Transportation Research Record (TRR): Journal of the Transportation Research Board in partnership with the Transportation Research Board, a program unit of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

TRR presents the latest research findings in policy, planning, administration, economics and financing, operations, construction, design, maintenance, safety, and more, for all modes of transportation. It publishes nearly 70 issues annually.

“This partnership with SAGE will provide TRB the ability to remake the TRR into a timelier, author friendly, and widely marketed journal that will be bring value to transportation researchers and practitioners alike,” commented Neil Pedersen, TRB Executive Director.

“SAGE will provide the most advanced author and reader services that will make the journal more attractive for publication of the highest quality transportation research,” commented Ann Brach, Director of Technical Activities at TRB and Editor-in-Chief of the TRR.

Since the journal’s founding in 1963 (originally titled the Highway Research Record), the TRR has published more than 25,000 papers and continues to build on its tradition of disseminating research findings to advance discussions around transportation, its associated development, challenges and opportunities.

“The research in TRR addresses a range of important issues that arise from a rapidly evolving transportation ecosystem,” commented Bob Howard, Senior Vice President of Global Journals, SAGE Publishing. “We’re pleased to work with the Transportation Research Board to enable these insights to be brought to and discussed amongst the widest possible global audience of decision makers in the transportation community.”

The first SAGE published issue of TRR, which will include an updated cover design, will be on display at the 2018 TRB Annual Meeting from January 7-11, 2018 in Washington, DC. Learn more about the journal by visiting the TRR’s website.
