It is useful to have a variety of authors now writing for the PTLLS course, previously there was only one main author which limited the selection of course specific literature available. The book is well laid out and user friendly which is required for such a short course of adult learners. I will be ordering a few of these books for the library for new courses starting in September.

A great book that covers the basics of what PTLLS aims to achieve. This book has more information than Gravells, particularly on functional skills and legislation.

Like many of the tasks/activities in the book,. There was a good linkage to the Learning outcomes to help learners complete their award.

This book was aimed at teaching a level below what I expected. Some sections may be useful to apply to the PGCTHE, but not the book as a whole.
