Position Title:        Associate Managing Editor
Position Type:       Permanent Full-Time
Department:         Research (Open Access)
Work Location:     Beijing or Shanghai, China
Reports to:             Director, Research (Tom Merriweather)

► COULD YOU BE OUR NEW ASSOCIATE MANAGING EDITOR?

  • A biomedical, engineering or physical sciences background to at least BSc level.

  • Ideally, journals publishing experience in an editorial role.

  • An interest in science and the communication of it.

  • Excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise effectively.

  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills and confidence in working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior academics.

  • A proactive approach, good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of journals publishing business and processes.

  • A high level of motivation, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.

► YOUR NEW ROLE

  • Working closely with internal Managing Editors, external Editors, Marketing and other stakeholders on the development of the Special Collections programme for the gold OA titles.

  • Building scientific knowledge of allocated journals and research areas.

  • Driving journal growth via increased high quality submissions.
