Christine T. Kovner New York University, USA

Christine Kovner is a public health nurse by training and experience. She is the Mathy Mezey Professor of Geriatric Nursing and a senior faculty associate at the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing. She has been an educator at the Rory Meyers College of Nursing, New York University (NYU) for more than 30 years. In addition, she has a faculty appointment as a Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine and is an affiliated faculty member at the NYU College of Global Public Health. She is on the executive committees of NYU’s National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and Translational Research Education and Careers Core (TREC). She is Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded Linked Training Award (TL1) for pre- and post-doctoral trainees interested in pursuing research careers in multidisciplinary clinical and translational science. An experienced and consistently funded health services researcher, she has content expertise in the nursing work environment, nurse outcomes, and patient safety. She also has methods expertise in survey research, psychometrics, and multivariate analysis. She has authored 110 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the co-author of Financial Management for Nurse Managers and Executives (now in its 5th edition).
