Vincent Bagire Makerere University Business School, Uganda

Dr. Vincent Bagire is an associate professor in the Department of Business Administration at Makerere University Business School, Kampala, Uganda. He obtained his PhD from the University of Nairobi. His teaching and research areas are management, strategy, business administration, and corporate strategy. He has written book chapters on management practices and published in journals in the same discipline. He is currently engaged in identifying management research interests regarding the nonprofit sector, particularly nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) operating in the less developed economies. His current concerns also include management practices among different forms of organization: public, industrial, business, and small enterprises—basically to redefine the work of managers; asking the question: What do managers do in African sense? This will help redefine management in the African context and for theory development. He is a member of the Africa Academy of Management, and a member of Strategic Management division of the Academy of Management and formerly its Global representative for Africa region. He is the contact person for the Association of African Business Schools at Makerere University Business School. He is an associate editor of the Africa Journal of Management (AJOM).
