Covering a wide range of topics this book is recommended for 1st year students particularly
this is been really useful for my first years as it provides a detailed overview of some important aspects of criminology.
Student evaluation was that this book was very text dense- more thought needed to how the information might be presented in more reader friendly sections, including improvements in the quality and frequency of illustrations and examples.
Good book but not applicable to any course I teach. Book was not requested by myself.
Supplementary in the context of research project with the police and UN.
This book is very useful for students of criminology where the author does his best to keep it simple. It is sprinkled with advice and learning tips, particularly towards other authors and theorists relevant to the material. I really like it.
Clearly written and a useful introduction to the discipline for beginning students.
A welcome second edition of a well written and informative book with a useful section for students re. learning skills.
This text provides a good overview of criminology. Also, there is a chapter on study skills, which will prove very useful for my first year students new to the topic.
Good for first years, actually goes into some quite useful areas, away from the usual basic books. Well written as always.
