DEI is the bedrock of any progressive organization. Driven by the belief that social and behavioral science has the power to improve society, we are mindful of the role we play. We focus on publishing impactful and socially relevant research and enable robust research methodology through our print and digital offerings. What we propagate through our books and journals would remain just on paper if it were not to be put in practice within the organization allowing us to become an example of a diverse and multicultural workplace. Building a workforce that is DEI aware and compliant is a tall order and requires sensitization at all levels. Sage India employs a heterogeneous workforce and is wholly committed to this cause.
What are we doing to achieve this?
Our publishing program is DEI focused:
We diligently pore over content we commission for our books and journals to check for any regional biases or text that is discriminatory in nature to edit it out before publication as also make efforts to sensitize authors/editors on the issue. No derogatory statements based on region/religion/or a certain community/class is acceptable in Sage India content.
We make sure that while considering publishing new content for our books and journals, authors/editors/contributors are not discriminated against based on caste, religion, ethnicity or gender.
To further our commitment to DEI principles, Sage India has published stellar works in the DEI space and continues to do so every year adding to the list of resources that will not only spread the word to the multitude of institutions and corporates that buy our books but also act as in house resources for our own employees to read and understand more about the need for a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization.
We publish a varied range of books on social justice, gender studies, caste and identity. Some of our offerings are as follows:
