The content has some depth to it without getting over complicated
Highly readable book, which covers all those thorny concepts that underpin the course. For those who like to 'dip', it is easy to alight on relevant content, well presented. Useful activities included.
Particularly useful section on evaluation and assessment.
Lots of useful chapters to support the trainee teacher. It is written in a user friendly style .
A well structured and logical text with chapters by several experienced educators. The book is ideal for all practitioners, new or existing. I will certainly recommend it.
very good easy to follow
The book is written in a logical order that makes it easy to follow. The case study examples offer the reader a practical overview of some of the strategies being discussed, and demonstrate how effective they could be in practice. Couple this with the activity examples, it makes it easy to see how these theories and strategies can be embedded into teaching practice.
a highly readable and up to date text outlining key areas for starting and existing teachers.
An interesting selection of viewpoints, each written by different authors, on aspects of learning and teaching in higher education. The section on "metaphors in teaching" is particularly creative and stimulating. Each chapter is helpfully preceded by a "learning outcomes" and "chapter outline" section, which you can quickly read to decide whether or not this chapter is for you. There are helpful resources throughout the book, for example, completed session plans, (Chapter 7), assessment templates (Chapter 8) and case studies on reflective practice (Chapter 10). This is a modern, practical and inspiring guide for all those involved in teaching and learning in HE.
