SAGE Publishing partners with the Center for Migration Studies to advance migration scholarship

October 25, 2017

Amidst today’s changing environment for immigrants, migrants, and refugees, SAGE Publishing announces a new partnership with the Center for Migration Studies (CMS) to publish the International Migration Review (IMR) and the Journal on Migration and Human Security (JMHS).

“We’re pleased to enter this new partnership with SAGE to publish the International Migration Review and the Journal on Migration and Human Security,” said Donald Kerwin, CMS’s Executive Director. “Working with SAGE to enhance the global recognition of these journals, we aim to advance knowledge regarding an array of migration issues and to inform public policies serving migrants, refugees, and newcomers.”

Established in 1964, IMR is internationally regarded as the principal journal in the field supporting the study of human migration, ethnic group relations, and refugee movements. It encourages scholarship across all aspects of sociodemographic, historical, economic, political, legislative and pastoral aspects of human mobility.

JMHS is dedicated to publishing high-quality research and public policy ideas that can inform and contribute to the U.S. and international policy debates on migration. Founded in 2013, the free journal addresses non-traditional perspectives on migration, current migration-related issues, and issues and research that receive insufficient attention in immigration policy circles under the rubric of human security.

“Migration is an increasingly critical issue around the world and we are proud to work with the CMS to publish journals that will advance scholarly insight on the topic,” said Bob Howard, Senior Vice President of Global Journals, SAGE Publishing. “We are confident that as the new publishers of journals, we can help advance the mission of the CMS as we bring the journals to new audiences across the globe.”Learn more about the journals by visiting IMR’s website and JMHS’s website.
