I acquired this text with the intention of suggesting it to a group of undergraduate students undertaking Supervision training with health and counselling professionals working within a context of education. The intention was that it would offer the students information about coaching with members of this group that often happens as part of the supervision process.

This book is written in a very readable style.It explores the differing nature fo leadership and mangement models.It offers many perspectives from both the British educational system and other countries systems.It is a useful book for those trainees that find themselves in a managment role and wish to deeepen theri understanding of mangement systems and practices.
As a third edition, the coaching and mentoring section was still in need of further refining. There is much more separation between coaching and mentoring and this text does not fully differentiate between the two.
