SAGE to begin publishing Applied Spectroscopy in partnership with the Society for Applied Spectroscopy

October 6, 2015

London, UK. SAGE, a world leading independent and academic publisher, today announced that as of January 2016 it is to begin publishing Applied Spectroscopy in partnership with the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS). An international peer reviewed journal, Applied Spectroscopy publishes original research and review articles covering all aspects of spectroscopy.

Applied Spectroscopy is one of the world's leading spectroscopy journals. As the flagship journal of the SAS, a society that has been in the business for almost 60 years, it is dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and information within the field. Through the publication of articles on both the fundamentals and applications of photon-based spectroscopy, from ultraviolet-visible absorption to cutting-edge hyphenated and interdisciplinary techniques, Applied Spectroscopy publishes cutting edge research concerning the development of the art and science of spectroscopy, as well as other allied sciences.

"I believe that this is a very important step for Applied Spectroscopy, one that will expand the reach and accessibility as well as the quality of the journal”, commented the journal’s editor ProfessorMichael Blades, of the University of British Columbia, Canada. "By centralizing the manuscript submission processes, tracking, and production services, as well as the journal hosting and marketing services under one roof, we believe that SAGE can offer the SAS a significantly improved publishing arrangement – one we are convinced will benefit our authors, readers, subscribers, and the Society and its members.”

Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE, further commented:

Applied Spectroscopy is a leading journal in its field, publishing innovative articles on spectroscopic methods and techniques. We are delighted to partner with the SAS, a longstanding organization aligned with our own publishing goals of disseminating high-quality content. We look forward to working together to further develop the journals reach, content and position as a leading forum for spectroscopic information and scholarship.”
