Abouth the Transforming Primary QTS series
This series reflects the new creative way schools are begining to teach, taking a fresh approach to supporting trainees as they work towards primary QTS. Titles provide fully up to date resources focused on teaching a more integrated and inclusive curriculum, and texts to draw out meaningful and explicit cross curricular links.
This is avery useful book that is easy to read and informative.
A good outline of basic arithmetic processes. It addresses the issues in the national curriculum while still retaining a wider view of developing children's understanding of number and calculation.
A good supplementary text to support student teachers understanding of teaching arithmetic. It also helps build their subject knowledge.
This is a very helpful book for primary teachers, focused on calculation. In the light of the current curriculum proposals beign made law, I am concerned that it will be effectively "blacklisted" by government-backed CPD and ITT promoters, but I, for one, would support the need for this text, which deals honestly with the real needs children have in learning calculation.
It is a good book for those who find teaching arithemetic in school. I have recommended this as a help to them. Students have fed back that they have found this useful.
L2 Functional skills Maths
A helpful guide to a crucial subject area.
